Former US Department of State Policy Adviser on Disaster Management. 35 years experience in development, treaty negotiations, the United Nations, international humanitarian law, conflict reduction, disaster management, information management, peace keeping, science and technology, economics, indigenous peoples (Bedouins and Native Americans), refugees, IDPs , human rights and animal welfare.

Managed creation of ReliefWeb.int after Rwanda Crisis (the UN's first major disaster web site) and received Superior Honor Award for fostering GDIN, the Global Disaster Information Network, a project proposed by Vice President Al Gore.  Former member of the SubCommittee on Disaster Reduction, a body that advised the President of the United States on disaster related technology. Represented the United States in the Futures Project on Risk Management Policies launched by OECD (the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development) which focused on projected systemic risks in the 21st century, including climate change.

Author, artist and public speaker. Former civilian peacekeeper in Sinai, Egypt.  Honorary member of the Alegat Bedouin tribe of the Sinai.   Former Executive Director GDIN, the Global Disaster Information Network and former President of Human Rights, International (MENSA).  Former President Blair House Library Foundation  Former Director for United Nations Affairs, WSPA, World Society for the Protection of Animals.  Currently alo Editor in chief of Climate.Caucus.net.
